This DSC PowerSeries PC1832 TELCO phone/voip kit is a feature-rich, hardwired security system that easily integrates with an array of compatible components to deliver an expandable (up to 32 total zones) business or home security solution. The PC1832 control panel comes out of the box with 8 hardwired on-board zones and it may be expanded to a total of 32 hardwired zones by using a PC5108 hardwired 8-zones expansion module. In addition, the PC1832 can accomodate up to 32 total wireless zones by adding an DSC wireless receiver (such as; RF5132-433 wireless receiver or RFK5501 combo keypad w/32-zone wireless receiver). With an DSC wireless receiver installed the PC1832 is compatible with the full line of DSC wireless security products. The PowerSeries PC1832 also gives the user more control, thereby enhancing the functional experience. The user can "Arm Away", "Arm Stay" or "Disarm" all partitions with just one operation. The PC1832 features up to 71 user codes, up to 8 keypads, and 4 partitions. With global arming and disarming, and scheduling auto arming and disarming, the DSC PC1832 panel is a preferred choice of installer's and DIYer's.
The new PowerSeries PC1832 control panel from DSC makes installation easy, simple and fast with label programming using the pre-loaded library. The PC1832 panel features template programming for new users and a programming interface that experts will be familiar with. With a library of over 250 commonly used names in English, French and Spanish, label programming is now a snap with the PowerSeries PC1832 v4.6 panel. DIYer's can now assign a unique 3-digit code to display a full descriptive label (e.g., code 190 displays "Window"), avoiding time and mistakes with more conventional keypad entry. For additional customization, other pertinent details can also be added, such as the zone or floor to make it easy for the owner to identify faults (e.g., "Bedroom Window"). The PowerSeries PC1832 also features an independent end-of-line (EOL) configuration that makes installation faster than ever before. Each hardwired zone can be independently matched to the devices EOL configuration, reducing the time required to get a common EOL configuration across all security devices. Likewise, wireless device enrollment can be enrolled quick and easily. With the wireless device enrollment process, DIYer's are not required to manually program serial numbers or wireless attributes. Instead, enrollment is completed by confirming the confirm Electronic Serial Numbers (ESN), zone numbers and zone type through a series of user friendly screens.
This PowerSeries PC1832 hardwired TELCO phone/voip security system kit includes; hardwired control panel (PC1832NK), control panel battery (BAT1245), power transformer (PTD1640U), hardwired LCD picture-icon keypad (PK5501ENG) and a TELCO telephone cord connector RJSET.
The PC1832 panel is equipped to send alarm signals over the TELCO traditional telephone network. Addionally, the DSC PowerSeries has also been proven to work reliably with certain VoIP providers. The recommended VoIP providers are Comcast Digital Voice, AT&T U-verse, Verizon FiOS, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Charter, Cox, Bright House Networks. All of these VoIP providers use an independent IP network which allow for acceptable alarm signal data communications. Unfortunatley, VoIP providers such as Vonage, Ooma or Magic Jack are not compatible for alarm monitoring. If you are going to use VoIP alarm monitoring, please make sure your VoIP provider is approved for transmitting alarm signals. If you have never had a monitored security system installed at your property, you will need to run a phone connection from a live phone jack to the PC1616 alarm control panel. You also need to make sure your phone service has long distance turned on. If you have VoIP service, you need to make sure that the VoIP service is live at the jack you are plugging the alarm control panel into.
You may also choose to add an alternative internet (DSC Connect24 TL260R-NA), dual-path ethernet/cellular (Alarm.com ADC-SEM210-PS-AT, Alarm.com ADC-SEM210-PS-VZ) or tri-path ethernet/wifi/cellular alarm communicator (Alula BAT-CONNECT-A, Alula BAT-CONNECT-V) alarm communicator to your PC1832 panel to eliminate your need of a phone line and achieve Alarm.com, Alula or Connect24 alarm monitoring services. With interactive alarm monitoring services (using the Alarm.com or Alula communicators) you can arm or disarm your system remotely, receive email/text message alerts, and set rules for monitoring your property.
