Please Note: The Honeywell Home Lyric Controller LCP500-LC wireless touchscreen control panel has been discontinued and replaced by the ProSeries PROA7CN and PROA7PLUSCN panels.
The Lyric Controller LCP500-LC is not just another Honeywell all-in-one wireless alarm control panel, its part of a new wireless connected platform for Canada. The new Honeywell wireless connected platform called Lyric has three key components; the Lyric Controller, a new line of encrypted SiX-Series security sensors, and integrations with the Honeywell Z-Wave Plus smart thermostat. The Lyric Controller is backward compatible with previous Honeywell 5800-Series manufactured wireless sensors and detectors, allowing customers to reuse older devices on the new platform.
Additionally, the new SiX-Series line of devices is easy to install, easy to maintain and provides a higher level of security. The Honeywell Lyric Six-Series wireless line of encrypted sensor's include;
• Lyric Secondary Keypad (LKP500-ENC)
• Lyric Keyfob (SiXFOB)
• Lyric Door Window Contact (SiXCT)
• Lyric Mini Door Window Contact (SiXMINICT)
• Lyric Motion Sensor (SiXPIR)
• Lyric Glassbreak (SiXGB)
• Lyric Smoke Detector (SiXSMOKE-CN)
• Lyric Wireless Indoor Alarm Siren (SiXSIREN)
Future Lyric accessories utilize a true 2.4 GHz 128-bit encryption signal to prevent possible intruders from jamming the RF signals. The addition of Lyric Lock is useful as it dedicates the Six-Series sensors to communicate with only the originally installed Lyric Controller. Unless deprogrammed from the Lyric alarm control panel, the Six-Series sensors are married to the existing Lyric Controller which helps protect your investment.
The Lyric Controller serves as the main control panel for both security/ home automation and is where all the magic happens such as programming security sensors, arming/disarming, programming Z-Wave home automation devices, setting automation smart scenes, changing basic system settings and much more. The controller has made some major advancements for the ever growing DIY security industry by building in the WiFi and Z-Wave radios into the Lyric Controller and adding a dedicated cellular communicator door on the side of the control panel. It is easy to add the Bell LTE (LYRICLTE-C) cellular alarm communicator in a matter of minutes. On the bottom of the Lyric alarm control panel, you will find a USB port which is helpful because you can upload photos to create a slideshow which can be presented on the Lyric Controller's 7-inch touchscreen display. Additionally, the USB port is very beneficial as it allows you to install any software updates to your controller with the use of a user-friendly USB stick. Keep in mind, we can also remotely update your controller firmware if you have our professional alarm monitoring services.
The Lyric Controller looks similar to previous alarm control panels such as LYNX Touch and 2GIG Go! Control series but, it's NOT. Honeywell has made some major upgrades to the controller such as;
Batch programming - While programming wireless sensors into the controller instead of having to individually learn in serial numbers to connect wireless security devices you can now activate and assign all of your serial numbers by pulling the battery tabs out of your new security sensors. The Lyric Controller is then smart enough to assign these sensors to a dedicated zone. Once you have completed pulling the battery tabs out of the SiX-Series wireless sensors you can go back to the controller and make adjustments to how you want those sensors to act if triggered. This reduces the overall time used in the installation process. Batch programming is only available with the newer Honeywell Six-Series sensors.
Smart Scenes - This is one of the most advantageous additions to the Lyric Controller because it consolidates older Honeywell LYNX programming modes called "scenes and rules" into what is now called smart scenes. Once a Z-Wave home automation device is learned into the controller all you have to do is go to smart scenes to enable that device into a smart scene which tells that sensor when and how to act. This makes the programming of Z-Wave home automation devices into the Lyric Controller one step easier!
GeoFencing - With activation of Total Connect 2.0 and the Honeywell Home T6 ProSeries Z-Wave Plus Smart Thermostat you can set up a Geofence which is you where you set up a perimeter distance for example 500 feet from your location and anytime you cross out of the set Geofence your Lyric Controller can arm itself, close the garage door and raise your thermostats temperature. At the same time when you cross back over that Geofence within 500 feet of your location, your controller can, for example, lower your thermostat and turn on a front porch light. The GeoFencing feature can be manipulated and customized to include the accessories of your liking and don't have to be setup how we described.
The Lyric Controller has added a built-in 2-megapixel security camera, so that when the security system has disarmed a notification with photo can be sent to you in the form of a push notification text message and/or email notification. In order for the camera feature to work, you must have Honeywell Total Connect 2.0 services activated.
Built-in microphone - The Lyric Controller now can receive voice commands to control Z-Wave automation smart scenes and other features with the use of the built-in microphone. There are three basic commands the Lyric alarm control panel will understand Hello Lyric, Hello Lyric home, and OK Lyric. Once the trigger word has been stated you can then follow with your automation smart scene name such as Arrive home, Bedtime, Party, Travel, etc. These scenes can include a vast array of devices and simultaneously lock a door, lower a connected thermostat, turn on/off or dim lights, close or open a garage door, etc. These automation smart scenes are limited to the connected Z-Wave devices you have. A new feature of the Lyric Controller is the integrations of the Honeywell Z-Wave Plus smart thermostat. To future proof the controller, Honeywell has also allotted another radio input for future compatibility in the event there are changes to the current radio standards. This feature is located directly above where the current cellular communicator is to be installed. For DIY installations of the Honeywell Lyric Controller we recommend adding the (LCP500-DK) which is a desk mount stand that requires no drilling and the (LT-CABLE) which is the 8' foot power cable. By using both of these products together the DIY Lyric installation becomes much easier.
The Honeywell Lyric Controller has also added integrations with the all new Honeywell Skybell DBCAM-TRIM video doorbell. The high-definition video doorbell lets you enjoy new levels of security, control, and convenience wherever they are in the world. With Honeywell Skybell you can remotely check doorbell activity on the Honeywell Total Connect 2.0 ® Remote Services app, and see, hear and speak to visitors at their doors from their iPhone ® or iPad ®. When you activate Honeywell Total Connect Remote Services to be used with the Lyric Controller, users can control their security system, compatible IP security cameras including Skybell, thermostats, Z-Wave Lighting, Z-Wave locks and receive alerts from most smartphones, tablets, and computers.
