The Honeywell TCVT2 is a GPS tracking device that gathers vehicle position data from the GPS satellites. The TCVT2 is an easy solution for tracking individual and fleet vehicles. It gathers data from the vehicle's OBD II interface connector and other asset data (such as; start/stop, speed, low battery, etc.) and then communicates the information, using CDMA cellular technology, to Honeywell's AlarmNet monitoring center. The TCTVT2 is very easy to install and features a plug and play friendly setup. All you have to do is plug it directly into the vehicle's OBD port. The DIYer can then monitor this information using their Total Connect Remote Services® account.
A geofence is a virtual boundary you can create around a geographical location or space. It defines an area, and allows you to be notified when an asset enters or exits that area. For best results, the borders of the Geofence should not be set close to the location where the vehicle will be parked. Vehicles parked close to the borders of a geofence may generate erroneous entry/exit alerts. Geofences are created via the TC2 GPS tracking map interface. Up to eight geofences can be configured for each vehicle tracker. Geofences must be a minimum of 40k meters and the map interface will alert you if the minimum is not met. When vehicles or assets exit the geo-fence area that has been set up, the GPS dashboard images will appear in red. green shading indicates that the vehicle or asset is within the geo-fence area that has been created. if the dashboard is yellow, this means a geo-fence area has not been created.
Tracking services may be combined with interactive security, energy management and video services, or as a standalone service offering. And, the option to upload an image of the user's vehicle or asset in the account is available.
Please take note, the TCVT2 uses a certain amount of current from the vehicle's battery even when the vehicle is turned off. care should be taken in using the device in vehicles that have old or weak batteries or that may go extended periods of time without being started. Smart Power Mode: TcvT2 will lower the current draw by disabling GPS in the event the vehicle battery is lowered to 11.5 volts. Once the vehicle battery voltage exceeds 12.4 volts, GPS will be re-initialized. Also, a Total Connect 2.0 Remote Services account is required to use this tracker.
