How the GeoAlarm Transmits Signals?
Fast Alarm Transmission
Redundant and Reliable Alarm Signals!
The GeoAlarm GeoCP Control Panel is designed to send alarm signals over the primary Wi-Fi network, and if down, over the backup cellular AT&T/Verizon network(s) through the GeoArm alarm servers to the end-user. With two communication paths built-into the GeoCP control panel, such as Wi-Fi and cellular, if the first path fails, the home security system can still reliably transmit the alarm signal over the secondary path. This ensures that the alarm signal is always received at the GeoArm alarm servers and then transmitted to the end-user, even in the event of a network outage, deliberate tampering or other communication failure. Dual-path alarm communications can lead to quicker DIY self-dispatch response times and potentially increase the chances of apprehension.
What is the Wi-Fi Network?
A Wi-Fi network is a type of wireless local home network that allows devices to connect to the internet or communicate with each other without the need for physical cables. It uses radio waves to transmit data between devices, and typically requires a router or access point to create the network. Wi-Fi is available throughout North America, but coverage may vary depending on location and local provider.
What is the Cellular LTE Network?
A cellular LTE network is a type of wireless network that uses Long-Term Evolution technology to provide high-speed data transfer and communication services. Cellular LTE is available throughout North America, but coverage may vary depending on the specific location and service provider (AT&T or Verizon).
