The DSC PG9974P is a wireless PowerG Mirror Optic PIR Motion detector is a vital component of a PowerG compatible security system. Upon the detection of motion, the PG9974P communicates an alert to the security system.
With built-in pet immunity the PG9974P is able to distinguish pets weighing up to 40 kg (90 lb) to reduce false alarms. Using advanced technologies, the PG9974P provides reliability, robustness to interference, prolonged battery life, extended range and easy installation. that is designed for PowerG compatible security systems. The PG8844P has a PIR motion detector and microwave sensors that are able to distinguish human beings and pets using True Motion Recognition™ which reduces the number of false alarms.
The PG9974P uses a combination of elliptical parabolic mirror optics. This innovative technology creates an exceptionally efficient mirror with extremely high optical gain, delivering longer range and providing excellent detection sensitivity. The PG9974P also applies a digital temperature compensation that allows the detector to continuously adjust its sensitivity according to the location temperature. In this way, the PG9974P is able to detect an intruder even when the ambient temperature is close to that one of the human body.
The PG9974P uses an obsidian black mirror technology. A unique, nickel-based, obsidian-like, reflective surface acts as a selective optical filter of infrared energy. In this way, the PG9974P can virtually eliminate white light interference and increase detection sensitivity.
The PG9974P is equipped with a visible link quality LED indicator that lets the installer choose the optimal location for installation, eliminating the effort of going back and forth to the keypad. Additionally, device configuration is quick and easy with no hardware switches or need to re-open the device. All device configuration settings are handled via the system keypad.

Event LED Indications:
- Red LED Blinks: Stabilization (warm-up 60 sec)
- Red LED on 0.2 second: Tamper open/close
- Red on 2 sec: Intruder alarm
- Yellow LED on: AM detection - Testing Mode
- Yellow LED blinks slowly (0.2 sec. ON, 30 sec. OFF): AM detection - Normal Mode
- Yellow and red LED blink simultaneously (0.2 sec. ON both, 0.2 sec. OFF): Self-test failure - Diagnostic Mode
- Yellow and red LED blink simultaneously slowly (0.2 sec. ON both, 30 sec. OFF): Self-test failure - Normal Mode
LED Response (signal strength):
- Green LED blinks: STRONG
- Orange LED blinks: GOOD
- Red LED blinks: POOR

Important: Only GOOD and STRONG signal strengths are acceptable. If you receive a POOR signal from the device, relocate it and re-test until a GOOD or STRONG signal is received.
