DSC WS4916 Product Description:
The DSC WS4916 is a wireless photoelectric smoke detector with a fixed temperature heat detector and an internal piezoelectric siren. The WS4916 provides reliable smoke or fire detection and its low-profile design is ideal for difficult-to-wire residential or commercial applications.
DSC is committed to reducing false alarms and has integrated a number of features into the WS4916 to provide reliable detection. One important feature is drift compensation. It provides a constant level of sensitivity performance for extender operation. As dust accumulates in a detector, it adjusts to maintain the original factory-set sensitivity, thereby minimizing the potential for false alarms. If the detector reaches its limit of compensation, it will indicate a trouble condition well before the sensitivity increases to a level where false alarms will be generated.
We highly recommend installing wireless monitored smoke detectors even if your home already has standalone battery operated smoke detectors. Standalone smoke detectors are designed for life safety and will wake someone up if they are asleep and a fire is detected. However, with only a local siren no one will know about a fire if it starts when no one is home. If you already have a DSC wireless security system, maximize its value and add monitored WS4916 wireless smoke detectors which will alert the central alarm monitoring station of a potential fire. Protect the value of your home and your family's belongings by installing at least one WS4916 smoke detector on each level of your home.
