The Alarm.com ADC-VDBA-770BAT is a battery replacement kit used to replace existing ADC-VDB770 video doorbell camera batteries or to replace the battery-less insert for installations with a wired digital chime. The ADC-VDBA-770BAT powers the internal heater within the video doorbell so that it can operate in cold outdoor environments up to -22°F (-30°C).
Starting in ?July 2023, the ?Alarm?.com? Video Doorbell (ADC-VDB770) will begin shipping with a battery-free insert in the device instead of the existing battery and heater.?The battery-less insert charges quickly for easy installation and is designed to overcome battery-related challenges that some partners have experienced with devices installed in hot environments.
Please Note: This will be a required accessory when installing a VDB770 with Battery-Less Insert in homes with a wired digital chime as such setups require a battery.

When my Guardian video doorbell installed in 2021 was having connectivity issues, and after seeing some swelling in the battery, I did some research online and found the solution to the known issue (the alarm company provided no notification of this issue, and wanted to charge hundreds of dollars for a tech visit). I bought the part on GeoArm.com and replaced the battery for the unit, and the doorbell works perfectly again!
